Simplest thing to do is just pull the cable to the desktop. I wouldn&#039;t expect any problem, but you can always plug it back in. You should have an answer within a couple minutes.

You might also invest in a USB or PCMCIA Ethernet adapter for one of your laptops. If wired management is kept and the desktop is not available, it&#039;ll come in handy.
