Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Does your physical machine have a floppy drive? If not just click no.

I got the same popup on my VMware Workstation as I don’t have a floppy drive in my laptop.

What version of Vmware are you talking about? I assume its workstation.

Have you created a new Virtual machine and set it for Linux?
—————————–
Goto, file, new VM and follow wizard to configure.
then ensure you are booting from CD in the VM settings.
—————————–
also sounds like your boot order is not set correct.
boot vm and go into the VM bios and set boot order to be cdrom first.

Floppy problem is as first advice, ignore now or choose do not look in future for floppy.
———————
Should then boot from CD/DVD

Hope this helps

I guess following was working fine for booting through cd VMware Server (1.0, 2.0): 1) open Webconsole and login 2) select VM and goto configure VM 3) select Power -- Bios Setup 4) Check the box for Show bios setup on boot time. 5) change boot option in CDDVD 6) remove floppy drive from VM using Hardware option VMware Workstation (6.0, 6.5, 7) 1) go to VM setting 2) remove Floppy drive 3) press "Esc" on boot time 4) boot from CD/DVD I think it will surely Work After that iw won't show floopy disk error.
