Using secondary E-Mail address for outgoing mail
Does anyone know of way to use a secondary SMTP e-mail address for sending outbound mail? Have setup a user with the additional Email address which receives incoming mail fine but so far am unable to find a way to use this same email address for sending mail. If you specify the "non-primary" SMTP address in the Outlook from field, it just gets replaced with the users primary email address. So basically I need a single user to be able to send and receive emails using two different SMTP E-mail addresses. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Answer Wiki:
If your talking about Exchange then each object user, group, etc can have more than one e-mail address assigned to the mailbox, however only the address designated as the "primary" address will be used as the sending address, you can of course swap between them using the ADUC tool - e-mail addresses tab and selecting which address should be used as the primary address however this is not on a client or per message (per-say) basis, it's an all or nothing feature switched by the network admin...

This is not possible, except when using POP/IMAP because in this case, the information is configured locally.
