Using Sametime Client 7.5 with Notes 6.5
My compoany still uses Notes 6.5 which has IM integrated. I have downloaded the Sametime 7.5.1 client and can use it to chat with others but would like to have the 7.5 client used when I select someone from my inbox. I have awareness enabled but when I choose to chat with them the integrated IM client starts. The new client has more features and I'd like to be able to use it by default. Can that be done? I am not a Notes Admin so can only affect my own machine.

What you want to do right now is not something you can just configure as far as I know.
The same goes for the 7.XX Lotus Notes Client. The best thing to do would be to wait for Lotus 8.
Lotus 8 offers the best of both worlds. You get the Sametime 8 (which is pretty much like 7.5 ST ST Client) and give you the nice new 8 Notes Client as well.
I faced this question daily after deploying the 7.5 ST Client and at times wished I never had installed it anywhere. While you can be logged in to ST from the Client and Notes at the same time you can't give on more "weight" than the other.
If anyone else knows a way to pull this off then let me know as it would help plenty of people.

I’m also looking for a way to use my Sametime 7.5 as a default messenger, even when integrated Sametime with Notes 6.5 is turned on. I hope to keep integrated one on because I can see the on-line status of my email senders and people in the directory. But I like the feature of 7.5 more. Let me know too if there is any way to set the default messenger to 7.5.
