Using MIMIX for AS/400 Failover

We have an AS/400 V5R4 Mod 270. We are on MIMIX Ha Lite version 6.0.20.0. My Boss wants to do a planned failover. I don't know that I ever seen one done on our AS/400. We don't have a contract with MIMIX anymore and we can't afford a private contractor. I have read through instructions for failovers on a newer larger AS/400 server. It is on MIMIX Ha, version 7. So I understand the process. We don't have some of those commands on this system. We are not using our AS/400 as a server. Has anything been published that I could use for our AS/400?

I'm not aware of documentation available outside of MIMIX customer support (login required). You might try contacting MIMIX and asking if any demo info is available. Perhaps they will send you something. (It might be a little dishonest to avoid mentioning that you have MIMIX Lita and no current contract. OTOH, your original acquisition should have supplied sufficient documentation; so there is an element of entitlement. But you'd only ask for a demo anyway.) . You have mentioned two AS/400s with two MIMIX products. Please label them as 'A' and 'B' or something, and tell us how replication is done from one to the other (identify source and target). Then tell us which will "fail". . You mention 'missing commands'. For MIMIX Lite, many commands shouldn't be needed. From my understanding of that version, you should instead have access to the MIMIX Browser, and the MIMIX 'Availability Co-pilot' add-on. From there, operation should essentially be graphical. There might be no commands to miss. . Tom

Currently we are using MIMIX to copy over any changes, adds, deletes of records from A, the main AS/400 to B, the secondary AS/400. A will be the one to fail. I will check our MIMIX manuals for the instructions. I have done very little with MIMIX. I still check it every day to see that it is running correctly. In the past, I would call MIMIX if I had major problems.
