Using Licensing on Windows Server 2000
I am trying to open Licencing on Win Server 2000 to check how many CALS the server has. When I open it I get a popup asking which domain I want to administer, I select our network domain and than it tells me my domain controller doesn't have the service running and closes the Licence Tool. How do I get it to look at my local machine instead of the domain controller. The reason I am doing this is i am getting "computer has reached maximum connections" when trying to acces the file share on the server.

We are runing XP desktops and connecting to a Windows Server 2000. When running "net config server" on the Server 2000 box it tells me I have unlimited connections which is strange?

Answer Wiki:
The error message: computer has reached maximum connections normally appears when you are trying to remote desktop into a machine that has both of its internal licenses used already. If you are getting this message when you are trying to connect to a share you might have not posted the correct text. Please list the entire error message if you can. As for licensing on the local machine try logging in locally and using licensing from their. Is this machine part of a 2003 domain?
