Has anyone tried getting an iPad 2 to do remote desktop on a Windows XP pc, through a Cisco Pix (ver.6) router? I know Cisco doesn't have an iPad client for the Pix because it's not ASA.

Software/Hardware used:
PIX 506E, Pix 6.3 software, IPad2, Windows XP SP3

Hey JZDoug,

I haven’t tried this yet, but take a look at his forum. I think this might be something that you are looking for. Shouldn’t be too hard…

We have several clients that love iPads, VPNs adn RDP. From the internal wireless network, a lot of them have gone with teh PocketCloud App which does a straight RDP like a PC For the VPN, they set up PPTP server on their Sonicwall, and the iPads are able to connect to the sites from remote locations, use pre-configured user credentials on said Sonicwall and then RDP as normal Figure the configuration wouldn't be too different on the PIX, just do some port forwarding ( <WANIP>:<port> -> 3389 of PC) - which I've also seen work for users with laptops/PCs.

Yeah, I have tried remotely accessing computers using RHUB iOS app. It is easy to use and best part is it is freely downloadable from Apple store.
