I am just learning about IFS and I am wondering if anyone is using this process to allow users to view reports online. We currently still print reports and we were thinking we could somehow store them online then maybe use IFS to allow access to get at them. Currently, our users have a restricted view in iseries(through Initial menu).

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

When using IFS to view reports, it is a fairly easy process to set up. From each users PC you can Map a Drive to the Directory where their reports are. For Security, you can set that up through Operations Navigator by clicking on the System, then File Systems, Integrated File Systems, then right click on Root and you will need to do a Share. Then you can open up Root for the Directories you will need to share and give permissions to. Or you can use the iSeries command line by going into WRKLNK and taking an option 9 for each directory in the path. You can set up Groups or individual users.
