Using CL to Update QTXT Files on iSeries

Is there a way to update a QTXT source file on the iSeries. The date would be within the QTXT file and that would change everyday.

When you do CRTSRCPF you create a PF the is similiar to other PFs except there are additional functions available.
It will have 3 fields defined.
It will be created as a multimbr file.
You can use source editors.
the CPYF command supports the FMTOPT(*CVTSRC)
You can write code to add/update/delete data just as any other file.

    To continue the discussion.. "You can write code to add/update/delete data just as any other file." But CL isn't designed to add/update/delete data. Why in a QTXT file? Have you considered a data area? Can the CL call an SQLSTM, or an RPG or COBOL program to update the date? Phil
