Using AD Distribution Groups for Security?


Permissions, Domain Local Security Group, Universal Distribution Group, Active Directory

Can an AD Universal Distribution Group be used as a member of a Domain Local Security Group?

Hello 796624 (nice name! :) ),
You can add the Universal Distribution Group to a non built-in domain security group; now I make you a question, why would you do that? I've done strange things on lots of ADs but never this one...just for curiosity.

You can also convert the distribution group to a security group and then add it to the domain local group. It has to be a security group first.
