Q:
Use VMware Snapshot of Another Machine?
Hi,

Someone at my company inadvertently hit "Revert to Snapshot" and lost the current configuration (of Machine A). I have a copy of a snapshot from another machine (Machine B) that I would like to use. Can I? If so, how do I set it up? I can't find any documentation on this.

Thanks.

The only way would be to hack up a bunch of files to redirect links pertaining to the snapshots and the original VMDK file.

Have you referred to the documentation of the software that allows the snapshots to be created?

Yes… there’s nothing about using a snapshot from a different machine.
