 USB Switch Windows XP printers
We have a temporary project and I need to connect a usb printer and a usb printer/scanner to 2 PCs that are running WinXP. It looks like I will need a USb switch and a USB hub. I would connect the PCs to the switch, the hub to the switch and then connect the printers to the hub. Has anyone done this before and are there any issues that I would need to look out for?

Software/Hardware used:
WindowsXP, USB printers

Answer Wiki:
Do you need to physically connect both printers to both PCs for some reason? If not, you should be able to connect each printing device to a PC, and share them out.

The easiest way is probably to install both on one computer and share them. Messing with switches and hubs could be a pain in the neck and might not even work.

The PCs are not connected to the network and a USB switch is around $15.00. At this point the question is moot because they decides to farm out the project.

You may try 2 USB port print server.
for example BELKIN F1UP0301 2-Port
You plug in printers to it and in output you will have 2 network printers(scanners)
Hope this helps.
