Usb adapter for legacy laptop?

USB, USB Flash drives

I have an older laptop with no usb ports. Is there an adapter that will extend any standard port (printer or comm) out to a USB port configuration. Princably to use a flash drive with a USB style connection on this older computer without a usb port.

What OS does this older laptop have on it?

I believe it is Windows 98 Its not with me at the moment.

May I ask what the purpose is?

What is this port needed for?

There may be another better option.

If your laptop can run Win98, chances are it has a CardBus/PC Card/PCMCIA slot or two onboard. There are PC Card USB adapters from Belkin, Adaptec, etc… for about $25.00 - 30.00…

Thanks for all the responses. Pressler there is indeed a PCMCIA slot so given your response about there existence of slot to USB adapters. I think thats my easiest solution.
