Found that the change attribute command can change the save yes/no attribute in the ifs. Doing that then going with the save process and ftp. Of course 'bin'.

thanks

In the image catalogs I have dealt with, the name of the image catalog coincides with the name of a folder at the root level in the IFS, which *does* contain a lot if data as you note. I have one image catalog at the moment that is about 200k in size, with a corresponding IFS folder that is over 6 gig in size. This picture was created initially with a RSTOBJ of the image catalog, and a RST of the corresponding IFS folder. You can create a save file in one of your regular libraries, save the IFS folder to that with the SAV command (to use a save file SAVETEST in QGPL, your device name would be

/qsys.lib/qgpl.lib/savetest.file

)then FTP both of those save files over. BIN, of course. Yes?

Yes you can restore the image catalog but how do you get the data for the volumes moved? If you save the image catalog the size is about 196K. If you look at the size of one volume in the catalog it's size is around 700M. It seems that you can save the catalog from the library but it does not pull the files from the IFS. Any ideas?
