I just took over a 35 user site where they still have a old Win NT4.0 (SP5) PDC running Exchange 5.5 (SP4). I want to upgrade the present Domain to AD and Exchange 2003. I have purchased and setup a server as a Win2K3 DC and fileserver in a test environment. From reading it looks like I need to use the Active Directory Migration tool to migrate the users, SID, and computers from the NT domain to the Win2k3 AD. If this is correct does it move the information or copy it? I would like to keep the NT PDC running for now and just wanted to move the user information to make sure it works in the test environment. If this works then I was going to follow the directions here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998708(EXCHG.65).aspx and migrate the exchange server to 2003 which the company already owns.
