Upgrade clean-up procedure for backup and restore
I am migrating from old AS400 machine (825) to newer machine (570) both hold OS400/V5R4M5. already loaded the new 570 machine with user data backup for testing purposes before live migration. Ny question is, at the day of migration what will be the clean-up procedure for the new machine before I perform the restore of backup taken from old machine, regarding (Libraries, DLO's, folders, user profiles)... and what restore procedure shall I follow for this purpose to avoid any chance of missing data?

Software/Hardware used:

Answer Wiki:
If you don't want to do a full restore, then remove all user libs and IFS folders then restore user profiles again then all of the user libs, IFS and documents if you use them. I would also use go cleanup and change the options to number of days to keep to 1 then make quiesce the system for one day then run cleanup. This will get rid of system journals logs and clear all message queues. This isn't really IBM approved but I've used it succesfully at least twice.
