Update disks on Windows server 2003
we have hp ml 350  and it   work  proper   . we  want  to  update  the servers  disks with  5 disks  in  each  server and we  want  to  replace  this  disks   with  new disks without  loss  the  data what  the  soluation???? ahmed  waqiealaa

The new hdd should have CD that allows to clone the old drive to the new one. Or use a 3rd party SW like, Norton ghost disk to disk. The almost same is <a href="http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/replace-disk/">HERE</a>

Can I ask a question? what do you mean when you want to update the server disk? are you using the same size of hdd to update your server or is it at larger capacity hard disk?

because from what I know example you are using 3 20gb hdd now, and you want to add new 5 hdd which is 30gb, you will need to reconfigure the RAID again.

my next question is what RAID are you using?

the best is always to backup your data before you do any migration.
