 Update Client Access Automatically
I want to automatically update iSeries Access for Windows on each of our users PC (70) with new updated versions. I have found some documents that help to some extent. I have been able to create a response file that contains all of the commands/prompts needed to update. When I go into Client Access Properties I can select to do a 'Silent Install' and point to the location of the response file. This will work as long as I am logged on with Admin priviledges. My users do not have Admin priviledges therefore I want to have this 'silent install' somehow kick off automatically when a 'regular' user is logged on. The only help items I have gotten was an article from IBM that is not supported (use as is) which does not go into enough detail. It mentions that they got it to work using the 'at' command. and/or using the scheduled task in windows. I just need some detailed help on getting iSeries Access for Windows automatically updated on each Users PC.

Answer Wiki:
The issue have here is that the iSeries access install requires administrative authority. If you go to the IBM information center (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/index.htm?info/rzaii/rzaiiinsormigmulti.htm) This link will show you a page close to the section that you are looking for. Migrate to the section titled silent install. Administering Service packs. they have a link to the information that you are looking for. It is a little vague, but I hope this at least gets you started in the right direction.
