Have her look again at the scheduling assistant for that meeting and make sure she is the organizer. I have seen issues where a user sets up a meeting and because of the way it is set up someone else gets listed as the organizer instead. My co-worker recently did this. That would cause the update tab not to appear.

A user is a the organizer of the recurring meeting, which is sent through both domains to users on each side. Two of those users have her set as delagtes. She creates the recurring meeting but loses the ability to send updates. This does not occur if she creates the meeting as a single occurrence.

If you are scheduling meeting organizer then you will get send option otherwise not found send option in which other person sent the meeting request and you are accepted.
