Answer Wiki:
Jet DB Engine conflicts. The underlying Database engine for Visual Basic is Jet 4.0 (Visual Studio 6.0). this is also the underlying engine for 'Microsoft Access 2000' as shipped and if patched up to date. As patched it is also the same for 'Microsoft AccessXP'. PROBABLE - different patch levels between the three. Start with the 'XP' system and run 'Windows Update' and 'Office Update' then verify the version of Jet running when you open 'Access'. Then do the same with the 2000 system and confirm it is the same version. Last do the update for the DB engine in your application. I hope this helps.

There are known issues when connecting to Access 2000 on certain localized versions of Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 4. This is scheduled to be fixed in Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 5. However, this bug is fixed for the English version (North America) of Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 4.

You can go for access repair software like Stellar Phoenix Access Recovery. Try the demo version first from here: http://www.repair-access-file.com/ Scan your database to check whether your data is recoverable or not. If you are able to view your database then go for full version to save your data.
