 Outlook sorting error
outlook is putting new e-mails received in the unread mail directory but showing the number unread next to the in-box. how do i stop this?

Unread mail is not a directory. Its a folder that query the inbox for unread messages. There are no email stored in that folder. Its a way for outlook organize the email folders so you don't have to look at what you already looked at. That number should decline as you read the new emails or you can right click on the folder and choose mark as emails as read.

The number of unread messages will always show next to your inbox or any other folder with unread mail. Darkstar is right, the unread mail folder is just a search folder showing all unread messages whther they are in the inbox or any other folder. You do not have to use the unread mail folder, that is a convenience and you can delete it if you wish.
