 unInstallShield
I am trying to install an application on a Windows XP system and get the following error, "Setup has detected that uninstallShield is in use. Please close unInstallShield and restart setup. Error 432." How do I close the application? Neither "uninst.exe" or "IsUninst.exe" appear in the Task Manager on the Processes list, and no other applications are running.

Answer Wiki:
Have you tried restarting your computer and trying it again, and if so, have you tried to installing the application in safe mode, try that and see if it works for you. Hope this helps. CG._

I ended up finding the executable in the Startup list in MSCONFIG. Once I eliminated it from the startup list the problem was solved. Thanks for the help.

Exactly the same problem; Software load with error message showing that code & text. What was best way to solve problem, and what would be good way to access “Startup List” in MSCONFIG?
