im finding im having to restart the print service every so often in the day as no one can print, in the "printers and faxes" page on the server you can see that the size of the page gets stuck so far and doesnt do anything

i wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or can help me with this issue?

Might be a stupid question, but have you restarted the server after the uninstallation of papercuts? If yes, has the logon as details of the print spooler service changed?

I also use in some of my costumers Paper Cut software (it is awesome btw). In my experience with both print servers and Paper Cut software, it should not be necessary to restart the server (windows ) either after install or uninstall process. Even so, you should do what Mariulia suggested - restart it. After that, firstly delete all previously spooled documents, and test once again. See if the printer itself does not have any connectivity issue. Try to print a test page. Try to ping the printer IP (if it's networked) or try to print from the directly connected server/workstation. If the problem still persists, see if the printer(s) are not in Pause condition. Open the spooler window of a printer, right-click a job that does not print. You might see an option that says continue printing - this should bring the printer to life ;-) HTH.
