You don’t mention what version of Norton A/V is installed… For some of the older versions of Norton, try a program called “nonav.exe”…

Another method is to get msciu2 from Microsoft to clean up your microsoft installer (msi) files.. then in safe mode delete any folders that reference symantec or norton i.e. c:program filescommon filessymantec shared also in docoments and settingsusername search for symantec and remove (delete) them all.. also delete your %temp% directory
