Q:
Uninstallation of norton wmi update
respected recipient,
I am currently having a trouble in uninstalling norton anti virus wmi update.
My company got norton anti virus software installed on the system from the norton anti virus software cd and it was not norton system works , just the norton anti virus software. After somedays, it started showing the message that norton anti virus is turned off, and when i turn it on, it wont.this also blocked all the files i download or recieve.
then i uninstalled norton, but it says that norton wmi update could not be uninstalled and shows the message" there are still some programms that need to be removed before this"
what should i do ?

1st - BEFORE removing anti-virus DISCONNECT from LAN/Internet. Do NOT reconnect until some form of antivirus is installed!
A - presuming Windows
B - In 'Control Panel' select add/remove programs
C - Norton is owned by Symantec and some components are listed under that name not Norton.
D - At this point review the list and you will be able to clean up Norton remains.
Good luck.

Rnav2003.exe is a good tool from symantec to remove the anti virus when fails through add/remove programs

You don’t mention what version of Norton A/V is installed… For some of the older versions of Norton, try a program called “nonav.exe”…

Another method is to get msciu2 from Microsoft to clean up your microsoft installer (msi) files.. then in safe mode delete any folders that reference symantec or norton i.e. c:program filescommon filessymantec shared also in docoments and settingsusername search for symantec and remove (delete) them all.. also delete your %temp% directory
