In order to upgrade to 8.0, tech's are stuck with one user for whom they are unable to uninstall the prior client release. Any ideas how to force an uninstall?

Software/Hardware used:

Locate and remove Lotus Notes by deleting the related files, recommended a trained software professional would better do this job
Eliminate the registry entries if u can and delete connected directions.
Search in Internet, can find out what files and registry entries need to be deleted. But this removal is only recommended for experts, for deleting the wrong file or registry key may render Windows unbootable.
OR this might be prevent the Notes installer from detecting any previous versions if u installed earlier.
Remove the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lotus\Notes\Installer (and all the subkeys).
Remove the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Lotus\Notes (and all the subkeys). Now depending on if the Windows Installer service still has info about the Notes install, then u may be done. Also look for log.nsf file ! Look here for <a href=”http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.help.domino.admin.doc/DOC/H_CLEANING_A_PREVIOUS_NOTES_8_BETA_FROM_YOUR_CLIENT_5225_OVER.html”>IBM WAY</a>

Tip1: Locate nlnotes.exe in your disks to find the Notes program folder. Tip2: Locate names.nsf in your disks to find the Notes data folder. Tip3: Do not forget to save user-specific files (names.nsf, archive NSFs) from Notes Data folder. Tip4: After saving your own files (see Tip3) delete the Notes program and data folders.

It still asks me for the "Lotus Notes 6.5.6 de.msi" file which I don't have so here is what I did.

Rename the Notes and Notes Data dir
    -> Start -> Run... -> regedit
    Strg+F (search)
c:\Notes\Notes.exe (path to your Notes install dir and Notes.exe)
Remove every folder in the Registry that has this information string.

Install Notes and copy the old files/folders
    archive
    mail
all .nsf files apart from busytime, headline, log and perweb
    signature.html
    id file
    Notes.ini

    Cheers
