Unable to install SQL 2005 Developer Edition

I have been trying to install the SQL 2005 Developer Edition from the MSDN subscription DVDs. The install process claims that there are remnants of the Beta edition of SQL 2005 on my computer. I did in fact have the SQL 2005 Beta, and uninstalled it using the uninstall tool that is provided as part of the SQL 2005 Developer Edition installation program. There are no official traces of any MS SQL product on my machine, though there are still plenty of entries in the registry, many of which cannot be removed. I have sent requests to Microsoft as to what to do, and they have been silent--it's been three weeks. Does anyone know how to proceed, or what needs to be removed from the registry? Thanks, Phil
