Trying to connect to wireless at another site; how do I connect to wireless at other sites using Ubuntu? I've tried but cannot make a good connection. I receive the icon light that it's connected but cannot sign on to the internet.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Connecting to wireless network is not always the same. There are many variables, for example: Wireless type (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n) and encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA-2, etc) are two of the biggest.
This begs a few questions: Do you know, first, the SSID of the wireless network you are trying to connect to? Also, do you know the encryption type AND network key? Lastly, are you sure your wireless cards supports their wireless type? Most likely 802.11g or 802.11n.
