TV apps with my Netgear N300 (WNR200v4) router isn’t working

I hooked up everything through Direct TV and I can get Pandora through Direct TV, but I can't get TV apps. For some reason, the lady at DIRECT TV said to me that I would have to somehow adjust the settings to my router, and open up the "UDP 1701-LT2P port". So I'm looking at these forums and everyone is saying that my Netgear router already has that port open (or all Netgear routers doesn't need adjustments to the ports at all). Also, how can I get PANDORA working on it just fine, but not the TV apps? Are they (Direct TV) sure that the Netgear router port needs adjusted?

Are you trying to get a Direct TV offering through your router? Or is the "TV apps" something from somewhere else? If you need help with Pandora, contact Pandora Support or look in Pandora forums. -- Tom

Good luck with your DirecTV. I had to many connection issues with them and ended up buying my way out of their contract. As for Netgear I had a router that would not connect. They wanted me to do a remote session and they said they would fix it because it was out of warranty. For $65.00.. No thanks.

Probably some kind of port configuration related issue regarding this problem. Try to login the router with proper credentials. Now forward port number range as, 21177 (start and end) & for TCP/UDP, if any.

I'd be curious to see how DirecTV customer service is today. It's been a while since I had it. They were not all that helpful with my issues and it would not surprise me that some apps could get blocked intentionally. This means you would have to buy the service from them. I know this is an old post but I'm curious as to what TV app(s) the original poster is referring to?
