How would I tune a simple SQL statement, like "SELECT @eno = eno FROM emp WHERE dno = @dno," in SQL Server 2005?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Start by pulling up the execution plan for the query and seeing what index is being used, or if none was being used. If a scan is being done you’ll need to add an index to the dno column of the emp table.
