SQL Server 2000 error message
Is there any equivalent to error_message() in SQL2000?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I don’t think so. Fortunately error handling was improved in 2005.

You could query the master.dbo.sysmessages table with the error number, but some specific information (for example, the name of a constraint that was violated) will be missing.

The only error checking in SQL 2000 is the @@ERROR function. Sadly that's as good as it gets.
