Troubleshooting
I am working with Microsoft Exchange 2005 and everything seems to be fine but no users can pop their mailboxes. Imap is fine but POP3 just times out for everyone outside the network, How can I trouble shoot this new network? The old admin quit. Should I run?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I would first check that your pop3 (port 110) is allowed through your firewall. If internal users are fine than this would make sense. If you have rules on your firewall allowing IMAP and not POP3 then all you will need to do is create a rule allowing traffic in and out on port 110.

Don’t run! Consider it a challange.

Were they able to open POP3 accounts before? Has the Exchange server been rebooted? How many Exchange servers do you have? What is your configuration?

Agh, sorry! Exchange 2003. They've never used POP3 accounts before.
