Trouble logging on to Oracle 10g database remotely
This question was emailed to us I installed the oracle 10g (10.1.0) on a windows 2003 server where we already have Oracle 9i (9.2). I am able to login on the 10g DB from server but when I try to login remotely it gives the error ORA-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process. What do I need to do so that both the databases are available remotely?

Answer Wiki:
Hi ITKE, Could I have a look at the listerner.ora, sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora inside the Oracle 10g installation as well as the same 3 files inside the Oracle 9i installation ? All three files should be inside their respective %ORACLE_HOME%networkadmin directory
