Trouble loading flat file when we need to skip some fields
Hello
This is the first time that I have tried to create transformations and a DTP. I have a flat file that has three text fields in the file that I do not want to import. When I try to load to the PSA I get the following message; "
"Error 'The argument 'PO QTY' cannot be interpreted as a number' on assignment field /BIC/ZQUANTITY record 1 value PO QTY" Message no. RSDS013. I have double checked the DataSource, flat file and DTP layouts.
I know that this means that it is trying to read the first text field into the quantity field. How do I preview this? Have I missed a step in the process?
Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Hello Renee,
Generally PSA is used to load the source system data as it is, with the same structure and meta data. We filter things out or use transformations when we load the PSA data into DSOs or InfoCubes.
The source systems have a limited downtime, they cannot be kept out of service for long. So, the data to be loaded is copied as it is to the PSA.
If you do not need the 3 fields in the DataTarget, I suggest you skip them while loading data to the target (InfoProvider) i.e when you create the mappings.
As far as filtering at PSA level is concerned, I will try that out. Currently, I dont have access to any BI system. I will let you know, once I have tried. Even I am new to BI.

Hi there, i have 6 characteristics with 3 key figures and i believe that i have done everything right but still when i try to load my flat file to datasource, i have the above mentioned error. I created another Infocube contianing the same characteristics and key figures and i did not have any problem in loading my flatfile Can anyone please help solving this problem.
