Trouble creating AD mailbox accounts after virtualizing Exchange


Active Directory, Virtualization, Exchange Server, Exchange System Manager

After virtualizing my Exchange server, I can no longer create mailbox and email accounts via Active Directory. The mailbox does not appear within the Exchange System Manager. Any ideas on what may be causing this problem?

How was the server virtualized, was it a P2V operation or was a new server stood up on top of a virtual infrastructure? Can you create new mailboxes on the Exchange Server itself, and not on a domain controller?
