Trojan.ByteVerify & Downloader Virus

Security, Viruses, Trojans, Windows Security, Antivirus, Vista, Windows Vista, Trojan.ByteVerify, Downloader virus

Hi,
My system has been infected with two Trojan.ByteVerify and one Downloader virus. I am using Windows Vista and the above virsuses were detected by Norton Security Scan that I have on my system. However, I have not bought the antivirus software yet so all the definations are not updated. I called Norton to find how can I get rid of the viruses. They suggested me that I would not be able to remove the viruses even if buy the software since my system got infected before buying the software. So I checked on internet for solutions. But I did not find anything for Windows Vista. The viruses are located in the following folder....
C:\Users\Alex\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment \cache\6.0\59\107cd1bb-22820c7e
I am not very smart with computers. Could you please suggest how can I remove these viruses from my system. Thank you in advance.
Alex.

Hello,

You can go to a website called SNAPFILES. You will find a tab called Freeware. Find the Virus program called Avast. Very good program. I have been using it for a couple of years and have had no issues keeping my computer virus free.

Hello,

You can remove the infection from your machine using some tools
process explorer : help u to find out the process running on your machine, check the location of unwanted process , stop that process, and remove the infected file from the locations.

Hijack this- shows everything that load when system starts, run a scan and check the unwanted files and click on fix ( be careful while doing this)

this will remove the infection manually, however you need a good antivirus software which stop your machine from being infected, the best available in market are kaspersky, mcafee.

Once you're infected, you can never really trust your machine, even if antivirus/anti-malware programs are able to "clean" the junk off. Best bet is to backup your personal files and use your computer's restore utility to take it back to factory settings. That procedure will wipe out any infection and restore a clean image to your computer. See my latest post: http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/security-corner/infected-pc/

Hi Alex,
Sounds like Norton does not want to go to the trouble to help you and win you over as a customer. Sad.
If you need help, and as you stated, you are not good with puters, heres my recommendation.
Head over to Major Geeks Forum. Register and then dnload the program “Hijack This” as Vishal suggested.
Run the program and submit the log results to the Malware section of the Forum.
They are good people there and will help you.
Heres the link,

They are one of the top two help Forums online in my opinion.
