Transferring files from AS/400 to Sharepoint 3
We want to be able to transfer data files (Excel Spreadsheets) from our AS/400 to a Sharepoint site. We've been advised that e-mail is a solution, but for security reasons our company won't allow this. We have a utility that let's us create the Excel files on the AS/400 but cannot work out what's needed to get these files automatically onto sharpoint so that our sharepoint users can see them. Cqan anyone help

Answer Wiki:
One easy way to move files from the i to Windows is to use the netserver server within i/OS. All the i/OS functions can be carried out using the Operations Navigator: 1) Define a folder within the IFS structure as a shared folder with appropriate permissions for your environment 2) Move the IFS files to transfer to this folder 3) on the Windows server: define a local user profile with the same name and password as the i/OS profile that is authorized to the shared folder (no magic to being a local user, but if your naming conventions are different for i/OS vs Windows profiles this is a low-impact way to make this work) 4) create a simple .cmd file on windows to copy from \i_System_Namefolder_share_name*.xls to c:windows_folder 5) run the .cmd file periodically to capture all new files and move them to the windows environment Netserver is found under the TCP/IP servers tree in Operations Navigator IFS is found under the File Systems tree in Operations Navigator
