If the files you want to transfer are on your phone, are they in the internal memory on on a SD card?

How did you transfer either by Bluetooth or by data cable (USB)? Try this one, on home screen of the phone, pull the notifications menu up by swiping finger from the top of the screen. Click on USB charging tab. Click on file transfer or photo transfer. In Windows Explorer, click on the device. It may help to show the device as a drive. Double click the drive and it shows files/folders.
