Q:
Tracking changes
What methods & utilities or applications do you use to track changes in your environment? I use an Excel spreadsheet for myself, but what do you use when tracking changes among several team members? For example, tracking changes in switch configurations, patches applied, folder authority changes, etc.

Thanks for your guidance.

We also use Excel spreadsheets here, though we do have some logs created by batch files as well as information stored from Nagios.

Hope this helps!

Excel seems to be the easy inexpensive way to do this for us.

If you have a sharepoint environment then that may be an option. Only grant access to those that need it and this would give you revision control of the documents as well.
