i think in the end you need to know if you want to be a java programmer in the future. if you are you will really need to put your heart and mind into it and take challenges head on so that one day you will be as good as the seniors too. but remember, learning never ends and the sky is the limit

That is a decision you need to make. Ask yourself these questions.

Do I like what I am doing in IT?

Are there other positions available in the area?

Are there other classes I can take?

Can I find a mentor?

Lear what you can, while you can. That is the reason for being an intern. Ask you supervisor more job responsibility. If the others in the department are not willing to help they may feel you are a job threat to them. If you are not happy and cannot get more duties and/or help from your peers then it’s time to question why. I’d stay to get as much real world experience but start looking elsewhere if you feel this is a dead end job.
