Q:
Thinkpad Fan Error
We have an IBM Thinkpad that is giving us a "Fan Error" message during boot up. The fan has been replaced and we still get the same error message. Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix the problem? TIA.

I had the same problem and reseated the heat sink worked. Check and make sure everything is seated correctly as this is a common fault.
Does the unit still boot if not hit ESC and it should?

The fans in these little workhorses expire quickly when in constant operation. Replacing the fan typically resolves the issue. If re-seating the heatsink does not work, there may be a problem with the motherborad connector.
