    Also, the general term has been used for almost 30 years. At first, I recall it mostly applied to hardware devices that were essentially diskless workstations or just X-terminals. More recently, it's meant more software clients that have most processing performed on a server. . But I don't know if anyone knows who "came up" with the idea. I suspect that multiple people did. The question isn't very clear. Seems like a research question better suited for search engines. . Tom
