Hi everybody i'll be attending the Oracle10g upgrade course @ Oracle Corporation next week. I need some help with UNIX commands that a DBA could use(i was trained in Win mode for Oracle). Just abt 5-10 will do, coz i just need to survive the 5-day course. The Senior DBA at my company suggest that i shld know the "MV", "CD", "MAKE" commands to follow along, as the lecturer is likely to ask students to go to DBMS/ADMIN folder to run some scripts or create new folder to store students assignments Any help much appreciated

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Your DBA is right. Additionally, it be wise to invest about twenty dollars on a small Unix shells book. It will give you details of various switches to those commands:
ls, mv, du, grep, more, ps, e.t.c. The kill command can be handy at times.
