Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Correct, your systems admin will have the ability to read your email. With they, probably not. They don’t have any reason to. When working in any Enterprise level system the admin will always have access to all the information on the network. Companies have to trust their systems admins with this level of access, because it is required to do their job.

Now Domino administrators tend realy not to care what people have in their mail.... I know this to be true because I am one of them. YES they can give themsleves access to any databse. This can be done by a system property that added local administrators to all databases on the servers or by using FULL ACCESS ADMIN to bypass all ACL's on the server. The use of FULL ACCESS ADMIN is logged in the servers log file so its use can be traced back the the administraotr. Now each database does have an activity log..... this is in the database property this will show reads and wrtie the any DB. This would be your first place to look. The Domino server will also hold log information on DB usage but if you think the administrator is the person doing this asking him / her to give you this inforamtion might not be the easiest of things.

I forgot to add in exchange they can view your mail as well. This is basically so the administrators can fix things.....or break them further.

...if other person are being reading my email???? If you're using Lotus Notes and have an e-mail administrator, it's probably not "your email". It probably belongs to your employer. Your employer can have anyone have access to that e-mail. Tom

The privilege that the administrator has is right to view everything and do everything. These typically aren't documented as the admin can do everything and anything which they can't do they have the ability to grant themselves rights to do.

There are any place where i can find oficial documentation... You could review Creating a mail policy settings document. The navigation pane on the left side can take you to other areas that cover various administration topics. Tom

Hi, one more question. I need to know it this is true: on way to know if some person had access to you email account is go to the List of primary people to send messages, found the person who want to know if he/she had a unautorizaty access in him/her account, click in show properties, and in administrator of this properties you can check the persons who access to this email. It is true? If you do this steps you can know who accessed to your email? thanks.

It seems from your posts that you are very concerned about your employer finding out how you are using the email system that your employer provides you. Maybe rather than spending this much effort trying to find out if the employer is accessing your email, the better solution is to not use the email in a way the employer would disapprove of.

Most of the time there is no way to know that someone has logged into your mailbox and viewed your email. Your best bet would be to use the email system as your employer wants to you. In most countries and states the company email is company property and the company can have your email and internet usage monitored and inspected at their whim as it belongs to them.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Wife uses Notes v8 and has one individual delegated to read/author email and calendar. There are times (vacation, sick days etc) when this individually should be accessing wife's email. However, it is strongly suspected that he is accessing wife's email even while she is at work. Purely unethical and against company policy. Is there any way to tell if he has accessed her email and what email(s) he may have accessed? He is not a Domino admin. Thank you in advance.

Szonda, If she is using the Notes client, she can view the access log fairly easily without system admin privileges. While in her mail file, click menu File - Application - Properties (the options may be slightly different). On the second tab, click the User Detail button. This will bring up a log of all recent access, by users or servers. You can sort to make it easier to look through, and can copy it to the Windows clipboard to paste out if needed. Good luck.
