The specified module could not be found
We are trying to install a software (on about 70 workstations) that uses a sql type database that is stored on our server.
We all have Windows XP and our server is Windows Server 2003.
About half the Workstations are able to connect to the database with no problems. The rest are unable to connect to the database. The complete error message in the error log is (Error #: -2147024770 - Desc: Automation error
The specified module could not be found. - Source: MT_DataEntry - frmDBSetup.PopulateAvailableServerList - Application Version 2.0.0 - Database Version "
The technical company who created the software thinks it may have something to do with the *.dll files in the system32 folder: but so far all the machines seem identical whether the database works or not. Any help would be appreaciated.

Since the error message does not mention what is the name of the module that could not be found, I think the first step is to find out what module is it talking about, and the "Process Monitor" from sysinternals can help on this matter.
Try this:
- Run Process Monitor (which can be downloaded or run on-line <a href="http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx">here</a>)
- Run the application that cannot connect to the database and wait for the error message
- Stop the capture in process monitor
- See the on-screen log to find out what operations made by the application has something different to "SUCCESS" at the "result" column.
Once we have identified the not found module, I think more help can be provided.
