I am trying to access a link in a Database on the LNS through the lotus client but it is throwing the error message 'The server with this DB is no longer responding Should notes switch to a replica on other server'. The link is accessible from a other client.I have shutdown the firewall also. Please help me out.

Sounds like a Notes problem. Bump Notes by ending the domino server and restarting. It’s a hassle – but it could be the swiftest way to get things back on track. (Ala Microsoft answer)

I disagree with restarting the server. You say you can access the server from another user's client, so the server is fine. Check your local names.nsf Connections documents and ensure you don't have a bad IP address. Check the working user's as well to see if he/she has a setting that is enabling his connection. Move your ID to that user's machine and switch IDs to see if you can connect as yourself on his/her machine. Do anything like this you can think of to help isolate the issue. Do traces/pings on your machine and the other user's machine to see if there is a connectivity issue. In Notes, use File > Preferences > User Preferences, then the Ports section - Trace button to trace your connection. Ping the same address from a command window to see if they are different.
