When I load a new Word document, it always appears without the headers and footers in view. I have to click "View, header/footer,close". If I save thsi as a new template, e.g.normal.dot, it does so, but still opens without the headers and ffooters. Really annoying. Any idease? Thnaks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

This drove me nuts, too. All you need to do is open the Normal.DOT template and check the View > Header and Footer option and then save the template. Then you’ll be all set. I’ll never understand why the Header and Footer View isn’t the default.
