First of all, I'm trying to install an OEM 3rd party software agent using an automatic installation procedure on an IBM i V6R1M1. The management server for this software is on a Windows Server 2012, using port 4184. The installation goes to a process when it tries to connect to the Windows server and it fails to connect.
I try to ping the Windows IP and pings okay. However, when I telnet to it using its port 4184, the telnet session ends rights away (TCP2504).
I spoke to our network team and says all our IPS are in the same submit and should be okay to connect.
I spoke to vendor support and they said that port 4184 should be reachable from the IBM i.
I'm confused now and would like to know if there is anything I need on the IBM i to configure, like add the port 4184 in the service table entry, or is there something else.
