Telnet from Putty to iSeries

Dear all, I am trying to do a Telnet from Putty software on my iSeries. That's working fine and I get back my Signon Display with a device QPADEV type V100. Unfortunately, when I tried to enter the first letter of my User, telnet crashes: the window is closed without any error messages. We thought it was maybe linked to our security software. We have deactivated it but same result. Is someone have an idea on this issue? Thank you Kind regards David

I have never used the type of set up you described. But, when I look at a standard 5250 emulation device description on our system, I see Device Class = *VRT, device type = 3179, device model = 2. I also see a specification for character identifier. If you can check those settings for your telnet connection, I would try that first. Check the port you are using also.

Of course I am wondering why you are trying a telnet session instead of a more established 5250 emulation tool.
