telnet connection lost


TELNET, Desktops

we have a pc that has it's telnet connection closed and reopened evry few minutesm regardless of open files and interactive jobs running - IBM states it may be a service - but same thing happens when pc is booted in safe mode with networking, killed all non esential services we could find - still have same problem - job logs states device error session closed.

Something may be sending a RST packet to the host and closing the session. Be sure the machine has latest updates & patches applied. You may need a utility like Wireshark or Microsoft's Network Monitor to watch traffic to/from this host to see what is happening.
