Task scheduler cannot create the task. The user account is unknown. The password is incorrect or the user account does not have permission to create this task.

The user account is working fine and so is the password

The permissions applied to the account are as follows

Administrators

Domain User

Enterprise Admin (just because I can’t get this to work)

The following is what I am doing Creating a task to auto dial a VPN upon user logon

C:WindowsSystem32rasdial.exe VPN is already created and works fine

What’s up with this mad error?

Please help please please please 4 hours now and can’t get it!!!

Sound’s like you have an error somewhare open the command prompt and run as ADMIN. Type: sfc /scannow and press enter. if there are any issues it will be addressed or it will alert you to any corruptions that can’t be repaired. If it cannot be repaired you must FFR

This error maybe caused by….Task Scheduler Service is disabled or incorrect set or Event Viewer Services is disabled or incorrect set or some any reason it is blocked port 135, or may disable DCOM support !
Click Start >services.msc and observe if the services exist, or have correct settings
a) Task Scheduler:Startup type:AUTOMATIC, LocalSystem
b) Windows Event Log:Startup type:AUTOMATIC, LocalService
Remember, if their problems,
It is not possible to change settings for this service through services.msc because all options disable or grayed out. To correct this problems, download this Utility Here (Schedule.reg) and Click Start > Run > and try to fix the registry and restart it.

And to fix up Event Log Services, download this Utility Here and do the same steps as above.

Now Check the status of port 135, and close firewall or other applications like same….It can do to open regedit by Start > Run > regedit, and search for the below
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc\Internet key, just remove & restart it.

Sorry, forgot to write most important thing…. before working with registry, it is good practice to take registry backup and also ur important data.
